Eric Trump, one of the president's sons, tweeted the video with the description, "WATCH: Supporters of President Trump Chant "CNN Sucks" During Jim Acosta's Live Spot at Florida Rally". He has repeatedly referred to the media as "the enemy of the people".
'While we certainly support freedom of the press, we also support freedom of speech.
The group emerged a year ago on a 4Chan messaging board, when someone claiming to be "Q" alleged to be a government insider who knows about secret "deep state" plots by key Democrats and officials, according to news reports.
As you can see, multiple individuals flipped Acosta the middle finger, while others simply yelled harassing remarks.
I'm very anxious that the hostility whipped up by Trump and some in conservative media will result in somebody getting hurt.
Acosta posted video of the crowd on Twitter, writing, "Just a sample of the sad scene we faced at the Trump rally in Tampa".
She followed by criticizing reporters for "routinely" disclosing classified information and government secrets, arguing it has put "lives in danger".
"Honestly, it felt like we weren't in America anymore", he said. "I'm very anxious that the hostility whipped up by Trump and some in conservative media will result in somebody getting hurt", Acosta wrote on Twitter.
Former Trump aide Anthony Scaramucci had this to say, defending Acosta: "This isn't our best".
The president has also made the media a bete noir, calling them the "fake news media" and the 'enemy of the people'.
Acosta has always been a pet target of Trump.
"If you truly believe there is a Deep State plot to unseat the president you love so dearly, and in whom you have invested so much of yourself, and that The Liberal Media is complicit in this effort, how long until you take drastic action?" wrote Holmes.
Acosta posted a video, which he apparently recorded, showing Trump supporters repeatedly harassing him. "And increasingly, Trump supporters are demonstrating just how aligned they are with his view that the political press is the enemy of the people".
