Trump eventually deleted the erroneous tweet and replaced it with one mentioning an event Saturday with Balderson.
As the Inquisitr reported yesterday, during a rally in Ohio, Trump boasted about his ability to "destroy" careers of Republicans who oppose him, giving credence to the sentiment that the Republican party has become the party of Donald Trump, a man who has managed to cultivate a cult of loyalty, remaking the party in his own image.
"I asked [Balderson] the other day, 'Why are you bringing Trump in?'" Kasich recalled.
For instance, influential conservative mega-donors, the Koch brothers, have launched a multi-year, multi-million dollar campaign, in an effort to combat and counter Trump tariffs, which they claim are jeopardizing the United States' economy.
"Why would there be a blue wave?"
But while he didn't mention the Akron native, he did invoke similar rhetoric while training fire on one of his new favorite targets, Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters of California. And he basked in cheers as the crowd chanted the campaign staple rallying cry, "Build the wall, build the wall".
He also gave an onstage hug to Rep. Jim Jordan, who is under siege after allegations that, as an assistant wrestling coach at Ohio State University, he knew of alleged sexual abuse by a team doctor but did not report it. Jordan, who has denied the charge, has announced his plan to run for speaker of the House. He is there to drum up support for Republican state senator Troy Balderson, who is running against Democrat Danny O'Connor in a Tuesday special election in the state's 12th Congressional District. "He's a fearless, tough cookie".
Both James and Lemon are African-American.
In a separate tweet, Trump previewed his message for the Columbus-area rally saying that while Balderson "is strong" on issues like crime and immigration, "his opponent is a puppet of Nancy Pelosi/high taxes".
"Get out and vote for Steve on Aug 7th", Trump wrote in a tweet that referenced Representative Steve Stivers.
