A police spokeswoman said they were "disoriented and dazed".
The men refused to leave so had to be escorted back to their nursing home in a taxi with a patrol auto following, reported Deutsche Welle.
Whether or not the rebels meant to end up at Wacken Open Air has not been confirmed, but police spokeswoman Merle Neufeld reportedly told public broadcaster Norddeutscher Rundfunk, "They obviously liked the metal festival". Headliners included Clawfinger, Dimmu Borgir, In Extremo, Judas Priest, Nightwish, Oomph as well as the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
The festival was sold out and around 75,000 people are believed to have attended between 1-4 August.
After an extensive search, the pensioners were found at 3am in the crowd at Wacken Open Air music festival in Germany.
