A woman who thought she was helping a down-and-out man pay for his food at a bowser in the United States ended up footing the bill for country music star Keith Urban.
"Occasionally it happens a couple of times a week", she captioned the adorable photo of her blushing next to Urban.
"I argued with him that he was not Keith Urban", Reed recalled. "I didn't think he had enough money to pay for his things so I said I would pay for it", Reed, 50, told local news outlet CBS3.
He thanked the her during their encounter at a store in in New Jersey and said his name was Keith.
Keith Urban was at the store before his concert in Camden on Friday night.
"It looked like he was using a card and it didn't go through and then he asked a young lady for $5 and I thought this is it so I said, 'No, I'll get it, '" recalled Reed.
"I argued with him that he was not Keith Urban", Reed said. When the customer in front of her Friday at Wawa was having an issue at the register, she jumped at the opportunity to help.
"We decided when we saw military people we would treat them at Wawa or Dunkin Donuts or whatever", said Ruth. "I have done that ever since". Basically, Ruth Reed is everyone's sweet mom who loves to help out strangers and also loves Keith Urban, even if she doesn't recognize him when he's starring her in the face. "I would encourage everybody to do it because it makes you feel good about you".
"He was so gracious", she said.
A friend gave Reed $20 for her Wawa acts of kindness. Is there a #MeToo moment happening in country music?
