Luis Alberto returned to training with the Lazio first team squad on Tuesday, after being left out of the matchday squad for disciplinary reasons when the Biancocelesti beat Empoli 2-0 in Serie A on Sunday.
The Spaniard was omitted from the squad after skipping the team’s training session on Saturday. Reports in Italy suggested that he had no signs of injury and that his decision to miss training was intentional.
TMW and several other outlets in Italy confirm that Luis Alberto returned to Formello on Tuesday.
Luis Alberto Lazio future
The 31-year-old penned a new deal with Lazio back in October, which means he is under contract until the summer of 2027.
However, he announced in April that he does not intend to continue playing for Lazio. It remains to be seen whether the club will be able to sell him for a fee, or whether the club and player will come to a mutually agreed termination of the contract.
TMW report that a move to Saudi Arabia is of interest to Luis Alberto, but they also believe that Napoli have registered an interest in signing him from Lazio. The price that has been mentioned in reports stands at €15m.
