Mattia Zaccagni was hauled off the pitch after just 32 minutes in Lazio’s Serie A visit to Monza, as coach Igor Tudor was furious with his risky decision-making.
See how the game unfolds on the Liveblog.
The winger had started the Week 35 match at the U-Power Stadium in Monza and his team was leading 1-0 thanks to Ciro Immobile’s first goal in almost three months.
However, Zaccagni was booked for a lunge on Samuele Birindelli after 15 minutes and continued to go into sliding tackles, much to the chagrin of his coach.
Zaccagni irritates Tudor
When it became evident that Zaccagni was not listening to orders to avoid making risky challenges, Tudor decided to take action.
He called a substitution at the 32nd minute, hauling Zaccagni off to introduce Nicolò Casale.
According to DAZN pitch-side reporters, Zaccagni stormed off down the tunnel and did not even look his coach in the face, even when Tudor was trying to shake his hand.
Tudor was further irritated when the player he introduced to replace Zaccagni, Casale, was booked within minutes of coming on for a shirt-tug.
