According to reports in France, Roma will not have to pay a release clause to secure new director of sport Florent Ghisolfi from OGC Nice.
Multiple sources in recent weeks pointed towards Ghisolfi to take over their transfer strategy from next season, after Tiago Pinto decided to walk away in early February.
There were some concerns as to whether they would be able to remove him from his contractual obligations with OGC Nice.
Ghisolfi ready for Roma
Now Footmercato insists that no payment will be necessary, as Ghisolfi will be free to sign for Roma this summer.
This is because Ghisolfi plans to hand in his resignation, which Nice will accept following negotiations, effectively terminating the contract by mutual consent.
Roma have been through quite a few different directors in recent years, including Spaniard Monchi and Portuguese official Tiago Pinto.
Ghisolfi only turned 39 in February and has been in the OGC Nice role since October 2022.
