Simone Inzaghi assures Inter are ‘focused’ on Sassuolo and not just for Serie A records after celebrating their ‘deserved Scudetto’ success.
It kicks off at the Mapei Stadium at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).
You can follow all the build-up and action as it happens from this game and Monza-Lazio on the LIVEBLOG.
The Nerazzurri are continuing their Scudetto celebrations by giving everyone playing time, including Emil Audero, Kristjan Asllani, Alexis Sanchez and former Sassuolo star Davide Frattesi.
However, their only Serie A defeat of the season was 2-1 to Sassuolo at San Siro on September 27, so there is the desire for revenge.
“It is a wonderful moment, we celebrated for days with our fans, it is what we wanted since the start of the season. We won a deserved Scudetto, now we want to finish on a high,” Inzaghi told Sky Sport Italia.
There is still motivation to get results, even though Inter cannot match the all-time record of 103 Serie A points set by Antonio Conte’s Juventus.
They can reach a maximum of 101, which would be a new club record, as well as club records for clean sheets and of course making Lautaro Martinez the Capoannoniere.
Inzaghi still motivated
“Aside from records in clean sheets and victories, we need to take it one game at a time and honour the tournament. Despite the celebrations, we trained with focus over the last few days and are ready for this match.”
Inzaghi was asked about the squad rotation for this evening, although notably even here there is still a start for Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
“I made some choices, these are players who gave us guarantees all the way through the season when called upon.”
