Alvaro Morata is keen to return to Italy and is reportedly willing to lower his salary in order to push through a summer transfer to Juventus.
The 31-year-old Spanish forward has impressed with Atletico Madrid this term, netting 20 goals and providing four assists across 44 matches. Last year, he penned a new contract with the Spanish club that allegedly includes a gentleman’s agreement allowing him to leave should he find a new home.
Juventus are working to pick up a new centre forward in the summer and have set their sights on Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee, but tough competition from Milan and Arsenal may force them to look elsewhere for a lower-cost option in line with their sustainable direction.
Morata wants Juventus return
Page seven of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport details how Morata is pushing to return to Serie A, wanting to return with his Italian wife after another two-year spell with Atletico Madrid.
Still having a house in Turin, the Spanish forward is keen to return to Juventus and is willing to drop his €7-8m total wages in order to push through the move.
